Student Organizations:
Communities Led by Students & Alumni

Learn how you can become actively involved in a student organization.

Our student organizations aim to provide members with professional growth, leadership development, and a sense of community. They include academic-focused groups where students can engage with career-related topics and opportunities and interest-based groups that provide students with ways to support and connect with each other through a shared purpose.

Students, alumni, staff, and faculty who join a student organization are encouraged to be active participants in a variety of ways. This may include attending events, collaborating on projects, contributing to activities, and serving in leadership roles.听Students can join the student organizations鈥 virtual communities within聽聽(UMGC鈥檚 platform for career resources) and on the (UMGC鈥檚 platform for peer-to-peer connection). Students interested in forming a new student organization can learn more about the process by visiting the page.

UMGC now also has affinity groups, which are university-moderated spaces that aim to build community through shared identities, experiences, connections, and resources.
